Serbia's Statehood Day and the 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Marked in Astanaни

The guest of honour at the reception was Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Minister of National Economy and Co-Chair of the Serbia–Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, Serik Zhumangarin. The event was attended by representatives of the Government of Kazakhstan, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as numerous guests. On this occasion, the historical significance of Serbia's Statehood Day was highlighted, commemorating the beginning of the Serbian Revolution in 1804 and the adoption of the Sretenje Constitution in 1835, one of the first modern constitutions in Europe. It was noted that over the past three decades Serbia and Kazakhstan have developed strong and friendly relations based on mutual respect, trust and a shared commitment to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law. Ambassador Vladimir Jovičić expressed his appreciation to Kazakhstan for its consistent and principled position regarding the non-recognition of the so-called Kosovo.

It was further emphasized that the celebration took place shortly after the official visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to Astana, which provided additional momentum for strengthening bilateral cooperation. The documents signed during the visit, together with the relaunch of the Serbia–Kazakhstan Business Council and the organization of a Business Forum, alongside already strong political relations, confirm the growing practical and economic dimension of the partnership.

Both sides reaffirmed their interest in further expanding cooperation in a wide range of areas, additionally supported by the establishment of direct flights between the two capitals. A shared commitment to further deepening the long-standing friendly relations between Serbia and Kazakhstan was also underlined.
