Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia Visit the Serbian Team at the World Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Astana

Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Serbian Olympic team in Astana, which participated in the third World Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IOAI 2026), held from 2 to 8 August 2026.

More than 100 countries and 450 students participated in the competition in Astana, while the Serbian team achieved an outstanding result, winning two silver medals and one honourable mention. The silver medals were awarded to Filip Kilibarda from the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade and Dimitrije Atanasković from the “Svetozar Marković” Gymnasium in Niš, while Luka Jovanović from the “Vuk Karadžić” Gymnasium in Trstenik received an honourable mention. Lazar Nikić from the Šabac Gymnasium also contributed to the team’s success.
Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Kazakhstan Vladimir Jovičić and Counsellor Branislav Jovanović met with the members of the Serbian Olympic team, expressed their support and encouragement, and wished them success in this and future competitions. On this occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of the achievements of young talents, who represent Serbia in the best possible way on the international stage.
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia extends its sincere congratulations to all members of the Olympic team, their teachers and the organisers on their outstanding achievement, with the conviction that the knowledge, talent and dedication of these young Serbian representatives will make a strong contribution to the further development of the Republic of Serbia, as well as to the advancement of cooperation between Serbia and Kazakhstan in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
