The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Jovicic, stated in an interview for Qazaqstan TV that the exchange of high-level visits between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Aleksandar Vučić has provided a strong impetus to the further development of bilateral relations. These visits marked a new phase in three decades of cooperation based on mutual respect, shared values, and support for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law. They also resulted in the signing of 20 documents across various sectors, ranging from agriculture and defense to information technology, artificial intelligence, culture, and sports. Equally important, these visits have further strengthened institutional dialogue through mechanisms such as intergovernmental commissions and business councils, ensuring that cooperation moves beyond formal agreements toward concrete projects, joint investments, and long-term partnerships.

It was emphasized that, despite differing estimates of trade turnover—ranging from approximately $107.7 million to over $900 million—there is significant potential for its growth, with a target set to reach $1 billion within the next five years. Particular emphasis will be placed on diversifying cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics, industry, as well as information technology and artificial intelligence.

Investment cooperation is also on an upward trajectory, with numerous opportunities in infrastructure, energy, and construction. More than 60 Serbian companies are already successfully operating in Kazakhstan, and further growth is expected, alongside a shared readiness to move from short-term cooperation toward sustainable partnerships that foster technology transfer, cultural exchange, and long-term economic development.
