03. Nov 2025.
A ceremony marking the launch of the first direct flight between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the Astana–Belgrade route, was held at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana.

At the event, alongside the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Jovičić, speeches were given by Talgat Tleubekovich Lastayev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Ivanovich Denisov, Chairman of the Board of the airline SCAT, and Yusuf Alјawder, Chairman of the Board of Nursultan Nazarbayev Airport.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of state institutions, airlines, media, and the online community. All participants welcomed the establishment of this air route, emphasizing that it would further strengthen ties and cooperation between the two friendly countries, both practically and symbolically.

It was particularly highlighted that the launch of the direct flight represents the successful implementation of agreements reached during the meeting between the Presidents of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kazakhstan, held during the presidential visit to Belgrade in November last year.

Ambassador Jovičić added that this event marks not only the first-ever direct flight between Serbia and Kazakhstan, but also a new bridge that will further strengthen friendly relations, open new opportunities in the fields of economy, trade, and tourism, and facilitate cultural cooperation by directly connecting the two nations and peoples.
