Address by Ambassador V. Jovicic at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstanчића у Националној академској библиотеци Републике Казахстан

On the occasion of the upcoming Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of the National Library, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Kazakhstan, Mr. Vladimir Jovičić, addressed and greeted the gathering chaired by the Director of the National Academic Library, Seitova Kumis Karsakbayevna, with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps, the National Commission for UNESCO, as well as prominent literary and library professionals and creators.
In his address, Ambassador Jovičić emphasized the importance that national libraries, as well as literary and library activities, have in preserving national culture and traditions. He recalled that during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Republic of Serbia last year, the national libraries of the two countries signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, and expressed readiness to further strengthen cooperation — both between the relevant institutions and between the two countries and peoples — in the spirit of mutual respect and friendship.
